Entry Requirements / VISA information
You must go to Mexico's consular representation abroad, to find out about the requirements and perform the necessary procedures for obtaining your visa, because the requirements are different for some countries.
If you are a citizen of Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bahamas, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, Costa Rica, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, USA, Estonia, Finland, France, Britain, Greece, Hungary, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela, you can come to Mexico without a visa, showing your passport and the "Migratory Form for Tourists, Transmigrants, Visitor businessperson or counselor, you can get it in travel agencies, airlines or at the point of entry into Mexico.
The immigration agent at the port of entry will may ask you want to check to have the necessary financial standing and the return ticket to your country.
If you are a foreigner of any other nationality, you must go to Mexico's consular representation abroad. If you have a relative, friend or acquaintance in Mexico, he can perform the procedure before the INM.

Health
Puerto Vallarta is leading hospitals, medical services public and private national and foreign tourists can be used if necessary. The destination offers qualified health professionals in all specialties and medical fields (including naturopathy and homeopathy) that meet your individual needs.
Water Quality
All the restaurants and hotels have proper potable and purified water installations. It's quite important to point out that the water system has received the certification every year since almost two decades.
Time Zone
Puerto Vallarta is located in the Central time Zone (-06:00GMT). Daylight savings time is in effect from the last Sunday in April until the last Sunday in October.
Weather
The weather is near perfect with temperatures rarely falling below 24°C/74°F during the day. Due to its location and geographical characteristics, it has a different climate each season.
Despite the fact that the first few months of the year are techinically winter, the weather in Puerto Vallarta, is generally warm with temperatures dropping to 25°C/77°F in the daytime and 20°C/68°F in the evening. It is the busiest time of the year for tourism, our high season runs from late November to April. The weather forecast promises blue skies virtually everyday!
Puerto Vallarta weather in spring, which runs from March to May, offers a warm climate with moderate temperatures. The climate is perfect, the city quiet and romantic, temperatures warm and the sky a perfect shade of blue.
Currency, Money Exchange, Banking
The peso is the national currency, although US dollars are widely accepted in businesses throughout town. Major credit cards are also accepted in most establishments. Banks offer currency exchange during business hours, which are generally Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a few offering at least morning service on Saturdays. Universal ATMs are widely available for cash withdrawals from global cash cards; money exchanges and hotels also offer currency exchange services 24 hours. Most shopping malls and stores are open 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
Metric Measurements
Mexico follows the International Metric System. Temperatures, rainfall measures, distance, weights, velocity are expressed in metric units. Distance is measured in kilometers.
Electricity
Outlets and voltage (110 volts) are the same as in the United States. Small appliances such as hair dryers, irons, razors, etc. can be used in Mexico. For those from other countries, adapters are required for electrical appliances. The frequency of electrical current in Mexico is 60 Hz.
Taxes
Now in Puerto Vallarta you will benefit from the Tax Refund on most purchases made in many affiliated stores while visiting this beautiful destination. Two of the companies that provide these services authorized by Secretaria de Administración Tributaria (SAT) are, TAX BACK and YVESAM that you can find located at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and be able to claim your tax refund when leaving Mexico. The application and claiming of Secretaria de Administración Tributaria VAT (Value Added Tax) is easy for tourists. Since VAT (Value Added Tax) can only be returned on products, you must fill out the Tax Reimbursement Form at any of the affiliated stores participating at TAX BACK or YVESAM offices, on line, etc., and afterwards you go to one of the Tax Refund service modules at the airport, along with the documentation to support your purchases and get your tax refund.
